Internet Marketing Strategies (Traffic Generation Techniques): ARTICLE Marketing Part TWO
How effective is your Article Marketing? Are you able to write Articles as it should be? Are you receiving the desired results from Article Marketing?
People do start writing Articles but are still not receiving expected results and hence traffic to their website. If you are one of those who would like to gain more from your Article writing efforts then this one is for you.
In this Article Marketing Part TWO, I will show you how to structure an Article and some tips that will boost your results. This Article will enable you to achieve better results purely by taking care of few points within the same Articles.
How to structure your Article content?
Article writing is an art but you can definitely develop the skills to write good articles. This is one of the key elements of a successful Article. One of the ways is to be very systematic and structure your article as follows
1. In the first paragraph of your Article you need to step into the shoes of your readers and connect with their fears, frustration or problem i.e. talk about the issue of your reader.
Eg. If you are writing an article about weight loss then start the Article by asking a question like “Are you struggling with weight loss?” or something similar.
2. In the next paragraph you start to offer them a plan of action.
Eg: “Its proven that 95% of diets simply don’t work, but don’t lose hope as I will be showing you a 3 step plan that will help you lose weight steadily without working your butt out!”
3. Provide valuable information or tips
Eg: “The 3 step weight loss plan is …..”
4. Important: Clearly mention a Call-To-Action, this is something you ask the reader to do after they have read your article.
Eg: Sign-up for your monthly newsletter on diet planning/weight management on your blog, or read more about a product that you offer, etc.
Article Marketing Tips
1. Articles should be regarding a certain facet of your niche and should be around 500 words. Don’t produce very long Articles.
2. Many Article Directories provide you with a resource box similar to the signature area feature offered in forums and also enable you to fill in your Profile or Bio in detail.
3. Use your full name as the author of the Article and as Username when you sign-up to Article Directories. This helps create your personal brand on the internet.
4. Clearly mention your USP (unique selling point), either something about the product you offer (if you have your own product or promoting one as an affiliate), your expertise in some area, etc.
5. Provide a link to your website or blog in your profile and your signature.
6. Important: Provide a Call-To-Action towards the end of your article.
7. Don’t provide more than 1 Call-To-Actions as this can confuse the reader.
8. Don’t provide a list of websites; limit it to 1 or maximum 2. Focus on branding and list building.
9. Don’t list your products.
10. Your resource box information or line count should be around 15% of your total article line count, that’s the norm.
Sweet tip
to finally put your Article Marketing on Steroids
1. You can use Article Spinners to spin (rephrase) your articles so that you can re-submit these same but rephrased content to these directories a few times which will give you more backlinks, more internet presence and of course more traffic.
2. Another one could be having an Article Submitter. This will submit your Article to many directories automatically. Again this would save you a lot of time.
If you have enjoyed reading the blog post, please leave your comments below. Thanks.
Enjoy your day!
Cheers!

Hi Abizer,
Excellent post on article marketing!
I must admit I have avoided writing articles even though I know they would benefit my product. I have often viewed article marketing on the too hard basket side of things. However from reading your blog post it sounds like they could be a lot easier than I thought.
I really should kick myself in the butt and get them done!

That was a great post! I have alos found article writing is a great marketing tool. Only recently I started using a spinning and submitting tool (I am using the article blueprint) and it is great! It created lots of backlinks and the website I was trying to advance jumped from google’s nowhere land to no. 31. I hope it will get soon to the first page.

Hi Abizer,
when I write articles I always list down a load of titles and then write the article around the title,. I can usually do a 400 worder in about 20 mins. Its just the boring monotinous grind of writting them at times. I also rewrite PLR articles which I admit soem are of a poor quality!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Its really good that you can re-write a 400 worded article in 20 mins approximately … good going. I still need to practice more to turn around and churn out articles more quicker, but I guess that comes from experience. Yeah, PLR articles can help to get a seed & few tips for our article. Then using this information we can write our own unique article … I think this works best. So far I have written articles and my posts on my own but this is what I would do as well for topics that I am learning and would like to write about.

Hi Abizer!
Great tips about how to do article marketing. For me, the hardest thing is getting into and staying in the habit of regular submissions. I find that I rarely run out of ideas, but sometimes I’m just too focussed on something else – like blog hopping –
.
It’s worth pointing out too that pretty much any article can be reframed (as opposed to spun) to create a totally new article with very little effort. For example, “5 Top Tips To Stop Your Dog Pulling On The Lead” can change be reframed as “5 Mistakes To Avoid If You Don’t Want Your Dog To Pull On The Lead” simply be writing the opposite of whatever you put in the first article.

Hi Susan
Article marketing is never easy
.. but the good part is that you don’t run out of ideas … one think I recommend is to jot down these ideas so that you have them whenever you need them and some might really go viral, you never know. This can also be useful if you plan to outsource your article writing to free up some of your time to keep you focus elsewhere – just a thought!
Thanks for pointing out that bit about “RE-FRAMING” rather an “SPINNING” … huge difference and works very well … Igor Griffith & Daniel Sunmer were also discussing on similar lines in their comments …
And I also liked your creative idea of writing the opposite of whatever is used in the first article … kool tips, thx.
Nice to meet you Susan! Thanks for stopping by and taking time to add such kool tips.

Excellent advice Abizer. I have found articles very effective in my internet marketing online business. I would add that its very important to do some key word research first. Find some long-tail keyword phrases for your niche FIRST and THEN write articles based on them, preferably including the keyword phrase in the article title and first paragraph if possible.

If the directory allows it put a picture of you in the resource box then do so. Also do not give too much information away in your article.
Make it a teaser and don’t give all the answer away, so that they have to visit your site or wherever you want to send them from the resource box to find the full answer. Curiosity!!!

Internet marketing – this niche is progressing so very fast, absolutely at lightening speed. So something that takes some of our mechanical tasks and leaves us with more time is a winner. Actually more that the spinner, I think you would appreciate the submitter, because this is something that takes loads of time .. even your team (outsourced) can make use of it while they carry on with the more important tasks .. glad the post helped you in some way.
Appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. Nice to meet you.

Hi Abizer
I love article marketing and I totally agree with your ideas and principles, they are pretty much what I use.
If you have a stock of PLR articles, instead of spinning them, try this. Extract the problem the writing is trying to address, then the suggested solutions. What you need to do next, is work out the benefits of these solutions and write about them, I normally try to find 4 benefits.
This way you can find a seed for your writing whilst still creating a totally unique article that you can be proud of as you created the entire piece.
If you are struggling with resource boxes, take a look at Jeff Herring on ezinearticles.com, he has some compelling hook lines.

Hi Igor
Thanks for stopping by. I agree with your strategy of writing articles (and youve made a good point of trying to extract 4 benefits following the definition of the problem) and I am doing the same for one of my niche websites – finding the seed. This is a good way of doing articles and can also be submitted in ezine as well. However spinning comes handy when you have to post to other not so strict article directories especially to get backlinks
– not used my spinner yet, but will write about it once I make use of it.
Appreciate you sharing Jeff Herring for compelling hook lines .. I do struggle at this bit. Thanks.
Nice to meet you.

I have been blogging since middle of May – so 3 months
But was disconnected for a month during this time as I was moving home, so unable to write since the last month-and-a-half. I started reading and learning about Internet Marketing from middle of April when I started AJ’s class (MWA3.0).
What Alex teaches is a very nice and a long term sustainable method of creating an online business, very clean and very honest.
I had created all the 4 posts on the traffice techniques topic with an intention to submit to ezine, but could not submit any of them and it just got lost in the grand scheme of things happening around me. But yeah, whenever I do post, I will send you links, in case you’d like to have a read.

Yore most welcome. Yeah the tools do help, but more important I think the submitter. This is because it does a lot of the mechanical work that you dont really require to spend time on and lets you get on to what you do best – blogging, articles, managing your team, etc.
Cheers!

Hey Abizer
I have just come for a visit to your site. How are you going?
Yes it’s Mark and I am following my students as they post on other peoples blogs. They don’t know that I am always checking to see they are getting results. I am passionate about helping them achieve and then they are able to make some money online exactly the same as I am doing. It is not really difficult as long as they are willing to put in the effort.
Always pleasing if I can see some of my students have posted comments. Keep up the good work.

Appreciate your comment.

Your post comes at a good time for me Abizer, yesterday I submitted my first article to ezine.
I’m waiting to see if it’s approved.
After reading your tips I already know one mistake I made – there was no call to action.
I’m glad you think 500 words is best, I was aiming for 450/500 word articles, and my first one was 480 words.
Keep these article marketing posts coming Abizer, they’re very useful to newbies like me. Good luck with the 100 comment challenge.

Hi Cherryl
Thanks for stopping by, appreciate your comment.
Yes, I think we should consider the fact that the articles (or blog post or any content) are read by humans like you and me – in which case we need to make sure that we have a structure to the content we present in addition to the massive value.
Nice to meet you.

Hi Abizer
I love article marketing. It was one of the first things I was taught but never realized how powerful it can be. I agree with all your points.
A little about me – My name is Sue McDonald and I am a student of Mark Terrell and I am actually going through the course a second time – by invitation. I love it and know if I do all he says, I will be successful. I am Australian but the US is my second home as I have family there and visit quite often. This is why I started Internet Marketing so I can travel whenever I want and have the money to do what I want.
Well I hope you are doing well and you become very successful. I would love you to come visit my blog and leave a comment.
Kind regards

Hi Sue
Nice to meet you and thanks for the good wishes.
Yeah, when I started internet marketing, I was taught that article marketing is one of the key things in internet business – and that is very true. But I was very fearful of writing articles as I had never written any article or journal that had ever been published. And I always had the impression that it was only for people who were either in a profession like journalism, or excellent command on language or writers. So I though it would be a good idea to write something about it after I have done it myself …
Oh that’s really nice that you keep travelling the world and are doing business as well. I’d love to travel the world but have not yet managed to as I am still developing my internet business and yet to go full-time marketer. There is a post about me and my background if you’d fancy reading it, it called “‘me’ factor”
I wish you all the success, keep in touch.
Cheers

Excellent Post! Based on the feedback you have recieved you have struck a chord with people involved in the challenge. For me your post is very useful. Basically I realised that some of my posts have not been up to standard. Your list gives me some good guidence on how to structure and promote posts in the future. You had to name one of the most important points in blogging what would that be?
Many Thanks

Hi Stan
Thanks for visiting my blog, appreciate your comments.
Also glad to know that you have found the content useful and will help you with your article marketing project. I think its always nice to have a structured articles/post so that our readers know what they should expect and more importantly what they should be doing after reading this post i.e. call-to-action.
I see you asked for 1 important point, but I think it is a combination of
- Good valuable content
- Blog should reflect who the person is (it is virtual “me” on the internet, so it should reflect my personality)
- Develop a rapport and relation with your readers.
Nice meeting you and wish you good luck.
Cheers!

Finally, I found the information I was searching for. I have been doing research on this subject, and for three days I keep entering sites that are supposed to have what I’m looking for, only to be discouraged with the lack of what I had to have. I wish I would have found your web-site sooner! I had about 30% of what I needed and your website has that, and the rest of what I needed to finish my research. Thank you and I will report back on how it goes!

What a great post to enter with. Many people (myself included) will benefit from this. I have started article marketing but need to put a lot more effort into it. I’ll look into Best Spinner, but don’t e-zine get funny with duplicate content?
Its that question of quality and quantity again. Which would you recommend?

Hi Barry
Nice to see you stop by my blog. Appreciate your comments.
Actually if we want to use Ezine for article submission, I only will upload original content and not spun content. I would try using the spun content with a fair uniqueness percentage for other article directories though. So its a balance between providing quality stuff to your readers and also benefiting from more backlinking from other less stringent article directories.
I have checked my setting and for both – Subscribe to Comments & Comment Luv – it is ON by default. However it does not show Comment Luv checked by default. It kinda givea an impression of me being mean
Nice to be connected and would be over to your space soon!

Hi Abizer, Good post with insightful tips. Sounds like an article should use the AIDA formula. The AIDA formula is A for grabbing attention. The I stands for creating interest. The D is to create desire and the A is for a call to action. This AIDA formula should also be used on sales letters and squeeze pages.
All the best with the 100 comment challenge. Terry Conti

Interesting abbreviation AIDA! That helps us remember all the points that we need to consider while writing (article, sales/squeeze page) and also verifying if these imp points have been covered.

Yeah, I agree, good articles go a long long way and backlinks remain forever, as long as the article remains on the directory, better the article longer it stays. Having said that, article writing needs a lot of dedication and patience and in time the effort will be rewarded. And Articles can generate traffic again and again and again.
Nice to be connected.

Hey Abizer,
Nice to have you in the 100 comment challenge. 23 more people needed peeps.
Good post on article writing.
I outsource my writing, the guy I use writes excellent articles.
I then post the original to Ezine Articles.
I use The Best Spinner. I then spin the article 5 times and submit to 5 more article directories. This enables me to get 5 times the content out there for only working once. Do this every day, you will see traffic.

I must say you have a neat strategy for article marketing. I have just bought the Magic Article Rewriter for spinning articles, not used it yet but will do soon. Based on my research I would have purchased The Best Spinner, but MAR seemed to be much economic for a one time price and had good reviews in the warrior forum. So I thought I’d give it a try!
Are you using any kind of submission software like SeNuke ?

Its good to structure every article esp. informing the reading of what they could expect and finally what should they do (call-to-action) after reading the blog -as this is what we write articles for – backlinks and traffic
Enjoy.

Hey Mandy,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I have started but yet to go a long way in article marketing. The trick is to produce quality content (either ourselves or by outsourcing) and then use it effectively as many times as possible. Thus saving time, money and increasing traffic. What traffic techniques are you using at the moment ?
It’ll be fun blog hopping experience, all-in-all a win-win situation.

Hi Allen,
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comments.
Yeah, good articles really go a long way and backlinks remain forever, as long as the article remains on the directory, better the article longer it stays.
I have just bought an article spinner called Magic Article Rewriter (MAR) – not yet started using it though. Though from my research I have always wanted to go with “The Best Spinner” but it is a bit expensive and comes with a yearly recurring cost – so this ones for the future. So I thought I’d try MAR as reviews seem to be ok with no major negatives and see it that works for me.
Will let you know my experience on working with a spinner.
Cheers!

Hi Glyn
Thanks for stopping by my blog, appreciate your good comments about the blog.
Its good to have an article structure which gives the reader a fair idea of what s/he should expect from the article and finally the most imp what should the reader do after reading the article (call-to-action) .. this is where traffic is generated to your website/squeeze page.
Outsourcing is a good option if you have money reserved for it – it gets things done much faster and professional writers could do a better job if we are not the writer type
