Internet Marketing Strategies (Traffic Generation Techniques): ARTICLE Marketing Part ONE
Are you still struggling to commence Article Marketing the right way and searching for the right Article Directories?
Many folks struggle to write articles as they have not written any earlier, don’t know what content to produce, don’t know what topics to choose, don’t know how to write an Article or are fearful of doing so.
In Article Marketing Part ONE, I will show you what are the benefits of Article Marketing, how to get started as a newbie, how to find and generate content, alternatives to writing Articles and some recommended Article Directories. This Article will enable anyone pick up Article Marketing as one of their Marketing Strategies online.
So, let’s get on with another VERY powerful traffic generation technique, Articles!
Why Article Marketing?
On the internet Article Marketing is one of the most popular methods to drive traffic because it is easy, effective and free.
So you need to publish short informative articles in your respective niche to appropriate Article directories on the internet. This is where people come to find relevant information and is considered to be a kind of knowledge repository.
Note: Another very important aspect that most people tend to forget is that once you write an Article and submit it to the Article directories, that Article stays on the directory (almost) forever with an (almost again) permanent backlink to you website and indefinite traffic to your blog till people find and read your article.
How to get started with Article Marketing?
Initially Article writing can be a time consuming task but not until long that you will notice ideas and content comes to you naturally and Article writing becomes a routine enjoyable task. Don’t worry, just relax and read on.
If you are new to internet marketing or your niche, think of what is the problem you are facing. Considering that you are a newbie to internet marketing and totally confused, don’t know where to start from, have loads of information but unable to decide what to do i.e. suffering from Information Overload then hop on to Google an do some research to find an answer to your query (Information Overload).
After reading a few websites or articles on this topic, you will be in a position to understand your problem and also write an article that outlines ways to tackle or resolve the problem.
If you have a topic in mind and want to write about it, great. If you need more information then back to research my friend.
Tip: Don’t ever forget that Google is your BEST friend.
Writing articles yourselves initially serves many purposes
1. It gives you a lot of knowledge since you perform research and learn about your niche.
2. It adds your personality to the content.
3. You have first hand experience of what is required to write content, format it and upload it to directories. This knowledge also comes in handy when you are outsourcing your articles.
Alternatives to writing Articles?
If you think that Article writing seems a difficult task for you initially, then there are 2 alternatives that I propose
1. You could Article Generators that create article content with super human speed. One that I have known to be really good, though have not used myself personally since I am ok writing articles
, is Article Wizard Pro and is a tool created by one of the top leaders in the industry called Jonathan Leger.
2. Outsourcing writing articles to ghost writers. This is another good alternative that provide you with articles that you have full rights and ownership to and you can submit under your name. Register on Elance Dot Com and place you requirement and you will hopefully receive few bids in next 24 to 48 hours. Make sure to check the rating of the ghost writer and if English is his/her language.
If you think one of the 2 alternatives works for you and is generating expected traffic and desired quality then keep using it, if you think you are ready to write articles then go for it.
What are Article Directories?
Article Directories are article submission websites where you can submit your article to the relevant categories and also find free content.
Recommended Article Directories?
I would recommend the following Article directories
1. Ezine Articles
2. Article Base
3. Go Articles
4. Article Dashboard
5. Article Alley
6. Article City
7. Easy Articles
8. Article Directories
9. Articles 888
10. Article Rich
However you will find a lot of other article directories by searching for “list of article directories”, or “top 50 article directories” or something similar. EzineArticles is the BEST of the lot.
Please go through “Article Marketing Part TWO” where I offer you some cool tips to achieve better Article Marketing results.
Enjoy your day!
Cheers!

Prior to publishing your articles to article directory sites release them on your own site. Wait to have them indexed and subsequently execute your bulk submission.

Hi Eric
Thanks for your suggestion. But if I release it on my blog and wait for it to be indexed, I’m sure there are loads of automated tools that would copy the content after which it would not be unique for the article directories. Isnt it better to first publish it to the article directories and then have it on your blog ?
Thanks for visiting my blog and posting your comments. Appreciate it. And Apologies for a delayed response.
Cheers!

Hey Abizner, Just coming over to continue the conversation, you left a really awesome comment on my blog, cheers mate
This is a good post, well structured and covers some of the important aspects of article marketing, from a brand building perspective.
Something you did not mention, but may in part 2 (if so ignore this) but you need to make sure you hyperlink the right keyword in your bio. The whole point of Article Marketing, apart from getting real people to read it, is the keyword rich backlink. SPending hours optimising a site for ‘click here’ is like shooting yourself in the foot, so DONT DO IT
That’s my 2 cents

I agree, article marketing is a highly effective (and enduring) way to lift your site’s rankings in the search engines. I have used several of the directories you mention, and also have found that Ezine Articles is the best for SEO.
And re newbies: Some people are unsure where to start with article marketing, but they shouldn’t be worried. Everyone is an expert in something, and it’s usually the thing they’re most passionate about.
So, they should just write about the thing they enjoy most. They’ll be sure to generate quality articles without too much trouble then.

Hey Matt,
Thanks for stopping by.
Yeah, Ezine is one of the best article directories and one of the strict ones to submit an article to. But its well worth getting articles on Ezine.
For newbies, it is a nightmare to start with article marketing but I agree that passion / interest in something can definitely ease things. But more often than not, people start internet marketing to have a dream lifestyle and earn money, immediately to start with something of their interest is not on the agenda but to find something that will create wealth is … so that makes things difficult … I guess, that’s my opinion though!
Cheers!

Hi Giofranco,
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments. Yeah am determined but working with a full time day job (as most of us do) becomes difficult sometimes. I have been a bit slow with my blog updates though and intend to start posting regularly. Yet to produce a proper plan (though I have it in my head) and make my self accountable
Cheers!

Hey Abizer,
I HATE writing articles!
I think this is one task I need to outsource.
You shared some really great tips and thanks for the list of article directories, I have noted them down for the time when I get someone else to write articles for me.

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for your comments. Just mentioned to Sally in response to her comment about yourself and Sally following Oil Rig hopping really well. Great stuff both are doing. I have written the blog posts in the form of the articles so am planning to submit the same to the article directories, but not sure if they will accept the ones already published on my blog. Will keep you posted.
I have been slow on Oil rig hopping and less active in the WMA forum till now, but intent to catch up now !
Cheers!
