Internet Marketing Strategies (Traffic Generation Techniques): FORUM Marketing Part TWO

Hey my friend, welcome to my blog. As promised, this will be the second and more interesting part of using Forums especially if you are unable to effectively generate quality and targeted traffic using Forums?
If you have been using Forums without much success in the past, then here is your chance to start using Forums efficiently, change your opinion about Forum Marketing and generate more quality and targeted traffic which could be your potential Joint Venture partners.
Below are tips to achieve success in Forum Marketing. Some are very simple but will require consistency and discipline and you will surely see the results.
1. Register your username against your real name. Don’t have a username like Batman, SuperGamePlayer, etc etc
2. Use a good photo of your face so that it gives a personal touch and a face to the name. People get connected to people they know they are talking with than talking to some username virtually.
3. Fill up the Bio section so that people know who you are and your field of expertise.
4. Link to your website or blog in your signature and profile. Most forums allow you to do so.
- Further Tip: Make sure that you don’t ask some list building question and your signature offers some great product, website, etc that talk about solving List Building. Be real, be genuine.
- Further Tip: If you think further on the above tip, it’s also a good idea to provide value in forums on topics that your signature talks about and offers a solution. So when people see value that logically connects to your signature then you get quality traffic and followers.
5. Your signature is your marketing estate, if you don’t see expected results, keep changing your signature every fortnight or month.
- Further Tip: To track your Traffic you need to configure Google Analytics on your website.
7. Post regularly with content, tips and advice and help others as much as possible.
- Further Tip: Browse through forums and see if you find some interesting queries that you would also like to know about. Rephrase these queries and post it to other forums. This gives you an opportunity to start asking questions. But be real and don’t spam. If you are into internet marketing don’t post a question on property business with the intention of plastering your URL’s in and around the forum.
8. Better the stuff, the more you will be noticed, the faster your reputation will grow.
Remember Your Value = Your Reputation = Your Credibility EQUALS Traffic to Your Website.
- Further Tip: For achieving better results search for new recently posted threads with only a couple responses because
* People come back to check for responses.
* Recent threads are listed above the not-so-recent threads, hence tends to get more views.
And when you post valuable replies to a new recent thread, people who view that thread will most likely read through your response as well. If they see real value they would be interested in knowing who you are and that’s start connecting you to people.
9. Use the power of conversational marketing and develop relationships with people on the Forum. This can be accomplished by finding out helpful people on the Forums, searching for their website / email ID’s and get connected with them.
10. Don’t plaster your URL’s around, don’t SPAM, don’t hype up things – just give value.
Following the tips mentioned in this article will surely help you increase traffic to your website. And this traffic is going to be both targeted and better quality hence very valuable.
Quote
“You could make more friends in 3 months, if you show interest in them, than in 3 years to make them interested in you! – Dale Carnegie”
This quote is to re-iterate that it’s not about plastering your URL’s everywhere in the Forums but to deliver value and provide help to people and the traffic will automatically follow.
The traffic that you get from forums has the potential for future Joint Venture partners, so priceless!
Caution
Before you start using any forums make sure that you read their rules so that your account is not suspended, locked or banned.
Goal
Your goal is to transition from a person who is asking questions to a person who is resolving queries and helping people i.e. develop credibility, finally being looked at as a Guru.
Enjoy your day!
Cheers!

Abizer,
This is some brilliant stuff and shows how indepth forum marketing can get.
It shows that you’re not the type of person that would just go to a forum and just try to leave their links everywhere.
Brilliant and I’ll be using loads of these tips.

but would be a great asset to the online business.
But yeah, forums can be a great place for developing long term relationships.
However it is something that would develop very very very slowly

Hi Abizer,
I liked your first Further Tip on item 4. You have to be consistent with your image within a subject when posting on forums: either you’re learning or you’re answering questions.
Cheers,
Jose

Hi Jose
Thanks for your comments and apologies for the delayed response.
It’s very important to have a proper image and not fool around plastering URL’s which position you as an expert and on the other hand you ask questions about the same topic as a newbie. This can be seen immediately and damages personal branding which is the KEY thing in an online business.
Cheers!

Hey Elizabeth,
Thanks for visiting my blog and apologies for the delayed response.
Yeah, forums are a very good way for backlink and retrieving information, but I think forums are the best medium to establish relationship .. which are long term. This is something which will grow very very slowly but be the best asset in the future. I intent to spend a little more time in forums again as well.
Wish you all the success
Cheers!

Hi Abizer
Like your blog and your very friendly approach. Just starting out on the Internet marketing highway and trying to absorb as much info as possible (seems quite daunting at the moment).
Not really considered Forum Marketing but I can see that building some sort of relationship with other’s is the way to go.
Will keep tabs on your blog for more interesting reading (I like the funny images on your “me” blog I might even try to do something similar
Cheers
